My Favorite Time of Year is the Fall- and what better way to experience the DMV but visiting some of the most beautiful, historical hotels in the area
The Willard Hotel. This hotel has hosted every president in some way since its opening in 1850. Battle Hymn of the Republic was written, Doctor Martin Luther King, j.r. completed his famous "I have a Dream" Speech here, as well as the first mint julep was mixed by Senator Henry Clay.
The Mayflower. 1925. The grand dame of Washington D.C.
The Hay-Adams. 1928. Named after President Lincoln's secretary and the the great grandson of President John Adams. It overlooks the White House.
Gadsby Tavern. Dating back to the 1700s, at one time a popular hotel and tavern; still serves as a restaurant.
Gaylord at National Harbor. This hotel is not historical, inasmuch as it celebrates the history of Maryland and the Capitol region.
