Most college teams, if not all, seem to have a player that shines and stands out more than the rest. With that being said, Rodney Pryor is definitely one of them. His natural scoring ability is fun to watch. 6'5 and 205 pounds is the Redshirt senior, and he can rebound at the big man level. He averages 19.1 points per game and 5 rebounds.
It took a long road to arrive in Georgetown's Program for Redshirt Rodney Pryor. It's a good story, especially with how he's playing now. Pryor, who started his college career in Kirkwood Community College, spent two years out of play (at Cloud Community College) back to back with two different injuiries. He was given a chance in Division One Basketball at Robert Morris, and took advantage of that opportunity.
Pryor showed his scoring ability in his first year at Robert Morris. He scores 15.6 points per game with 42.9 3FG% and a quality 48.1 FG%. In his second year, he really blossomed, scoring 18 PPG with a solid 8 rebounds per game. Although in his first season, he shot more efficiently than his second, his rebounding as a Guard seemingly put Pryor on that next level.
The biggest thing to watch for this guy is consistency. Pryor can look great shooting the basketball one night and the next night- his shot can look ugly. The Hoyas need a leader as they are attempting to go to the National Tournament and Pryor can be The Guy.
